Feeling Stretched Too Thin?

Create more time for things you love.

The way the mind is operating is often reflected in your environment.

It shows up in a packed schedule, double-booked, chaotic, frantic...

It shows up in a crowded kitchen, overloaded shelves, spills, and outdated food...

But the problem is NEVER too much stuff or too little time

The good news is that no matter how many demands are put on you or stuff is brought to your porch

You are in 100% control of bringing back your peace and your freedom.

In the book, "Essentialism" by Greg McKeown, he gives a process for cleaning out the clutter in your life

That is very similar to the process of cleaning up your mind.

  1. CHOOSE. No longer feel victim to what is placed at your feet by the expectations of others.

  2. CHALLENGE. Challenge the beliefs that you "have to" do anything.

  3. UNDERSTAND the actual trade-offs instead of just reacting to the chaos around you.

  4. MANAGE feelings of guilt, the fear of disappointing others, being judged for your decisions, the FOMO so you can be at peace with your decisions and present where you choose to be.

  5. ADD JOY and make it a priority. Work takes less effort when your mind is relaxed.

  6. EDIT. Delete, return ownership to thoughts, feelings, and habits like people-pleasing and approval seeking that do not serve you anymore.

  7. CELEBRATE all of the wins. Move on to the next task in a state of gratitude.

  8. FOCUS with all of your soul on the vital few and let the rest go with peace.

  9. LOVE yourself and your decisions. Have your own back.

Imagine this:

You wake up calm, knowing exactly what you will be focused on today

When something unplanned comes up, you know exactly how to shuffle if needed

When someone asks you to do something you can say no with complete love...no more resentment or pretending you want to.

If you choose to say yes, you can do it with peace. Not thinking about what you aren't doing the entire time.

You only do things you truly want to do.

You have dedicated times for joy and recovery to look forward to. You trust yourself to take that time for you.

You get a chance to be a human BEING instead of a human DOING; filling your life with things you will look back on with gratitude instead of regret.

You get to be present

"Life is available only in the present moment. If you abandon the present moment you cannot live in the moments of your daily life deeply."

-Thich Nhat Hahn

When your mind is clean and uncluttered you have a deeper ability to love your life, love those around you, and serve meaningfully.

The cleaner cupboards and clearer schedule are just the sprinkles.

Please reach out if you feel like you are missing out on life while you are doing all of the things. You can learn to edit and declutter your mind to free it up for the things that are truly important and just don't last.

From a client who is a college student trying to get it all done: "I can't believe what a difference just a few, small changes have made. I feel like I have plenty of time for all of the things I want to do. And I've never liked schedules!"

You can do this too.
